Who is Eligible?

All regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are eligible for benefits, along with their eligible dependents, which include:

  • Spouse
  • Domestic Partner
  • Child(ren) up to age 26 (including children of Domestic Partners)

If you meet the eligibility requirements, you can enroll yourself and your eligible dependents during the following periods:

  • New Hire Enrollment
  • Open Enrollment
  • Qualified Life Event (QLE)

Dependent Eligibility

Eligible dependents are defined as your legal spouse, or domestic partner and eligible children, up to age 26. This includes: your own children, legally adopted children, stepchildren, a child for whom you have been appointed legal guardian, a child for whom the court has issued a QMCSO requiring you, your spouse or domestic partner to provide coverage and certain disabled children (beyond age 26).

Domestic Partner Coverage

A domestic partnership is different than a marriage in that a spouse is considered a federal tax dependent. If you cover a domestic partner or a domestic partner’s child, we are required, for tax-reporting purposes, to report income for you that reflects the value of your domestic partner coverage. This is known as imputed income and will be reported as taxable income on your paycheck as well as on your W-2. The portion of any premiums payable for domestic partner coverage will also be payable on an after-tax basis.
